Jane Eyre Reflection

While reading this book I found that since we analyzed the many motifs, when I read now I look for more motifs and connections, so reading Jane Eyre has adapted how I read and has made me understand what I read a lot better. Our class discussions helped a lot too. In the beginning when the reading assignments were in huge chunks, I was very overwhelmed. Once we split it up a little, it went a lot better and I didn't have any problems. I think this book should be taugh in College Literature because it is a lot of analyzing and critical thinking; just what students need! Though the book starts out very slow, once the drama of things start picking up it isn't that bad of a read. All of the analyzing is very beneficial to the students in my opinon. It definitely is a preparation for college!

The Pact

We had talked about film adaptations in class and we were told to think about one we had seen, whether it be good or bad. I had read the book The Pact by Jodi Picoult and I liked it a lot. There was a lot of description and the character development was done very well. Almost all of the characters were round and had there own sense of uniquness to them. The movie version of The Pact was terrible. They took the main plot and twisted it. Major character and details about those characters were taken out and they changed the thoughts/emotions the characters had had throughout the book. The movie seemed to drag on forever and was a waste of an hour and half. It seemed like the movie was just trying to get the main idea of the movie down and get it over with; they even failed at that.

natural medicine

At work this past week, I had recently had to take a class on aromatherapy. It uses essential oils to alter a person's mind, mood, cognitive function, or health. There are several different modes of duffusing the oils into the air. One way is Aerial diffusion. This is used for environmental fragrancing or aerial disinfection. Another mode is Direct inhalation. Direct inhalation is used for respiratory disinfection, decongestion, expectoration, and psychological effects. One other mode is Topical applications; this is used for general massages, baths, compresses, and theraeputic skin care. It is believed that aromatherapy eliminates disease.
